A total of ten of these structures protect Hwaseong from attack

Seoilchi (서일치) is the western turret I. The location of the structure is between Seobukgangnu (Northwestern Pavilion) and Seoporu (Western Sentry Post).

Seoilchi is also known as a chi which is a section of the fortress that projects from the wall. Chi means pheasant bird who has the ability to use camouflage to hide from the enemy.

These structures, a total of ten in all, are placed along regular intervals along the wall of the fortress. They were successfully used to attack unsuspecting enemy troops from above.
